Soy Candles

Soy candles

Most of us like candles and obviously have them in our homes. Candles can bring a calming effect to your home and are wonderful for those candle light dinners. The only problem is the type of candle you buy for your home

Because of the lack of time in our daily schedule, when going out to buy scented candles, we tend to go to the nearest store and pick up some "cheapies" not knowing that this can be hazardous not only to ourselves but also to our family's health!

Most of these candles you pick up at just any little store are most likely made with paraffin, which a petroleum based product, and depending on where the candles were originally made, they could also be made with a lead wick. The making of lead wicks has been outlawed in the United States, but apparently the sale of them has not.

Let's look at an alternative. A much better, healthier scented candle to use is soy candles and there are many benefits in using soy candles:

1) Soy candles burn approximately 50% longer

2) They burn slower and at a lower temperature, which helps with the fragrance distribution

3) Soy candles are nearly completely soot (dirt) free

4) They are non-toxic and made with no pesticides or herbicides which makes them safe for use around kids and pets

5) Soy candles are made from soybeans grown in the United States, which is a renewable resource and means that your purchase helps the economy!

6) Soy candles are less likely to cause allergies

7) They are biodegradable and can be easily cleaned with soap and water.
